8 Steps that will Help You Become an Event Planning Pro- Step #4 Recruit

Now it’s time to get  your team ready.  You’ve already made a list of every volunteer that you will need for this event.

Divide and Conquer

Divide the event up into steps with a coordinator that will oversee each one.  Sample Coordinators include:  Set up, Hospitality (Greeting and Registration),  Food,  Games, Clean-up, Communication, etc.

Try to design your event so that only coordinators are reporting to you.

Have each coordinator contribute bv recruiting team members.

Train/ Equip

Is there anything that your leaders will need special training for?

Uniforms

Make sure that your leaders will stand out for the event. Do you need to design and order tee shirts? Lanyard name tags? Collect sizes for tee shirts and make sure that you have the correct spelling for each volunteer’s name if you plan to create name tags. Make sure that you have enough time to order/ produce uniform items.

Shortly after you recruit volunteers, you will need to let them know the details of how they will be serving. We’ll cover that in Step #5.

So, what do you think?
