8 Steps that will Help You Become an Event Planning Pro- Step #7 Celebrate!

Celebrate!

Your event was a success. Now it’s time to thank everyone that made it possible. Take time to remember and celebrate with your volunteers. It doesn’t really matter how you do it, but by celebrating your wins, it will help everyone to know that this event was a success. Timing is everything. Celebrate your wins close to the event wile it’s still fresh in everyone’s mind. Plan to celebrate within one week after the event.

Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  1. Send a thank-you email with a list of everything your team accomplished together.
  2. Record a Thank you video and post it to Vimeo or Youtube and send to all of your volunteers.
  3. Send a personal, hand-written card to everyone that made this event possible.
  4. Throw a post-event party.
  5. Write down a few quotes from guests that you heard throughout the time at your event. “Wow! This is amazing.” “You guys sure went all-out” or “This means so much to our family” etc. Share these with your team.

People are drawn to success. Let them know that their particpation made a difference. If you take time to celebrate, you will honor those who worked alongside you and chances are, they’ll want to work with you again next time.
