The Courage of Sarah Noble- Story (video) and Devotional

One of our favorite read-aloud books so far this year has been “The Courage of Sarah Noble”.

I just came across this wonderful video to share with you. It’s a lovely reading of the story along with beautiful illustrations. After the video, you may want to discuss the story with your child and follow the devotional below as part of a homeschool lesson or just for a cozy family night.

May the Lord fill your heart and home with courage. Enjoy!

Devotion:

Courage is defined as “mind, heart, spirit; the attitude or response of facing anything recognized as dangerous, difficult, or painful, instead of withdrawing from it; the quality of being fearless or brave; valor; pluck.”

Discuss:

1. Throughout the story, how does Sarah keep up her courage?

2. Discuss how Sarah exercises her courage and how in encourages her father.

3. What does the Bible say about courage? Read Joshua 1:9 aloud.

4. Say, in the middle of difficult times, why should we have courage? (Because God is with us wherever we go.)

5. When we show courage, how will we encourage others? (How does showing courage help our family and friends?)

So, what do you think?
